The fascinating Skåne region of Sweden, known for its beech forests and apple orchards, is our base for this deep-dive into a lesser-known part of Scandinavia. We discover local gourmet produce, take to the water in a UNESCO biosphere reserve, and explore the world of Absolut in Åhus – every drop of water and every seed of wheat in the world-famous vodka comes from here. Our last stop is hip Malmö, a city emerging from its industrial past as a bohemian and artistic hotspot.

Malmö has a legendary party scene and we’ll paint the town red, bar hopping to places like Grand Malmö, famous for generous and unusual cocktails using classic Nordic ingredients served with a hearty slice of cool musical vibes

Itinerary

DAY 1 - ABSOLUT HOME: Old town wander ⋅ Vodka-themed dinner

Our journey of new friends and Nordic influences begins in the charming fishing village of Åhus. As the boats make their way out towards Hanö Bay we walk the harbor and explore the old town, where cobblestoned streets meet sandy beaches flanked with colorful wooden houses.

This fascinating corner of southern Sweden is home to Absolut Vodka. As the sun sets, we head to Absolut Home for cocktails and a vodka-paired dinner featuring local producers. We toast the start of our adventure with a heartfelt skål!
DAY 2 - FORAGING WITH FRIENDS: Deep nature ⋅ Wetlands kayaking ⋅ Vodka masterclass

After a hearty Swedish breakfast, we head into the forest and an area known for beech and apple orchards for a foraging walk and an unforgettable wilderness lunch cooked over an open fire. Continuing in the deep nature theme, we make our way to Kristianstad Vattensrike wetlands, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, where kayaks await for a fun and friendly paddle on the stunning waterways.

Returning to Åhus, we meet some of the world’s most experienced vodka makers who lead the Absolut team, many of whom have been practicing their craft for over 25 years. This evening we choose our own adventure for dinner. Options range from casual beer hall to fine dining overlooking the water – your Tastemaker guides the way.
DAY 3 - MOUTHWATERING MALMÖ: Malmö discovery tour ⋅ Farewell dinner ⋅ Cocktail bar crawl

This morning we head out for a walk that takes us from deep green forest to the rolling waves of a dramatic stretch of coastline along the Baltic Sea, past traditional eel houses. Afterwards, we head west to hip Malmö. While exploring the historic city, we stop in at the legendary Malmö Saluhall food market to taste the wares of local artisans.

After some downtime to enjoy the city your own way, we come together for a fabulous final dinner in one of our favorite eateries. Then it’s time to explore the city’s nightlife, bar-hopping to beloved spots like Grand Malmö, famous for its unusual cocktails using classic Nordic ingredients, served with a side of cool musical vibes.
DAY 4 - ONWARDS!: After a late breakfast it’s time to say goodbye to this southern Swedish adventure. Until we meet again!

Åhus Gästgivaregård or “Gästis” as locals know it, is situated in an 18th century building, overlooking a characteristic waterway that leads to the Baltic Sea. Rooms here are bright and comfortable, and there is a lively evening scene perfect for a last tipple of whatever you fancy.

MALMÖ, 1 NIGHT

Elite Hotel Esplanade is located in an ideal position for exploring historic Malmö, quiet enough to get a great night’s sleep but steps away from historic Lilla Torg square and the best nightlife, restaurant, and shopping areas of the city.
